Hi I was wondering if somebody could help with a system restore problem please. I have windows xp as my OS and when I try to do a system restore I get a message saying system restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please restart your machine and try again. I uncheck the Turn off system restore and restart my machine but when I restart I find the system restore off box checked again. I have noticed at the bottom of my screen on system properties it does say status (c) Turned off. I hope somebody can help as I really need to restore. Cheers all x

    try this
Steps to turn on System Restore
Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab.
Click to clear the Turn off System Restore check box. Or, click the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box.
    Click OK.

After a few moments, the System Properties dialog box closes.

I've had problems in the past saying it can't do a system restore for various reasons. I then start up in safe mode and have no problems doing a system restore.
