Hi, wonder if anyone else can shed some light on this problem for me, im using ie7 and the home page is igoogle. The problem im having is that every once in a while internet explorer decides to start itself up and repeatedly open new tabs, rendering my computer inoperable. Have already googled it with no joy. Any info on this will be much appreciated.
check for viruses & spyware other than that the next best thing is reformat & start again,once reformatted use an imaging program like;macrium reflect,norton ghost or acronis true image at initial xp install & at stages as you add software & updates,finally use better security protection free antivirus avira antivirus clamwin avg avast free realtime spy scanners spywareterminator superantispyware free firewalls comodo zone alarm
internet explorer is very susceptable to spyware hijacking your homepage and opening up new windows on your browser. I had the same problem and spent hundreds of dollars on different software to protect myself but my homepage always got changed every couple of months. The reason internet explorer is weak is because it's hardwired to the registry, any spyware that enters your computer will make entries to the registry which are very hard to remove.. Now I just use firefox browser and have never had anymore problems with my homepage. You can try doing a deepscan and get rid of your spyware. If successful and you still want to use internet explorer, use the free "returnil" everytime you surf the internet. This software will delete any virus/spyware you got while on the internet when you reboot. I don't surf the internet without returnil in the background, it's too dangerous.
