Hi all. Im hoping that you can give me some advice that may help me.

Ive just purchased a Desktop with Windows 7. I have noticed that Windows Movie Maker is not on there, but has been 'replaced' by Windows Live Movie Maker. On my old pc I used to follow the following steps to go from my Mini DV camera to DVD :

Use Windows Movie Maker (WMM) to capture in AVI format
Use Windows Movie Maker to then edit the file, add some titles etc
Use TEMPEngc to improve picture/ reduce file / create mpeg file
    Burn DVD using Nero

My first thought was to just re-install WMM and TMPGEnc and continue as before, but Ive realised that the compatible WMM version 2.6 you cant capture footage from cameras.
Also it seems TMPGEnc doesnt work with Windows 7 ??

So I want to know what my best options are ? .....

Work out how to use the new Live Movie Maker better ?
Does TMPGEnc even work in Windows 7 ?

Or am I going to be bettr off purchasing some software to do it all ?

    Thanks for any advice.

Well Ive just copied from camera using Windows Live , using their mpg file, and the quality seems okay, but not as sharp as copying as AVI and then running thru TMPGEnc , I think.

    Any thoughts guys ?
