need hard drive cloning software

    I'm looking to clone a partition from one hard drive onto a new one. My CD/DVD drive is currently not working so I was wondering if there is a program that will boot off a USB drive and will allow me to preform this operation.

    I've used the Ultimate Boot CD before, but I've never used it with a USB drive. According to their website, you can use a utility to allow it to work with a USB drive. Here's the link if you're interested.

    If you're able to get it to work, then there are several tools on there that you can use to clone your hard drive.

    my favorite is an app called Acronis True Image. you can run the app off of a USB drive, CDROM, or floppy disk.
