I am trying to convert a .rar file to a video file. I tried using the trial version of both WINRAR and 7zip but got prompted for a password.
I dont know what the password is. How do I bypass this or does anyone know a generic password for trial versions?

This just means your archive is password protected.

You will need to go back to the thread where you downloaded the movie and check if the poster has placed a password in his post. Otherwise, you may want to download the file again, in a non-protected archive. Good luck!

Thanks....I did try that and unfortunately the password they provided did not work.
Do you think it is the movie that has the password that is the problem or is it that I don't have access to the password to unlock the "WinRAR or Zip7 Converter"?

7zip is freeware.. winrar may as well be .. chances are you don't even have what you think you have.. probably just some malicious nasty.

if winRAR ask for a passwoird ignore the password winrar will still work.mine always ask for a password and ive got winRar full version installed.
if the file is password protected you need the password or download it from somewhere else.
