Problem with Skype

    Hello. I've been unable to use Skype after downloading it and installing it on my computer, which is XP Pro SP2.

    I downloaded Skype from the company site and installed it a couple of weeks ago and what happens is that it loads up and then shuts down and disappears. I tried to make it work for a couple of days and it didn't so I uninstalled it and yesterday, I downloaded the latest version from the AfterDawn site (Skype version 5.3.0.111) and after installing it the same problem happens.

    Just don't know why this is happening and any help solving this problem is greatly appreciated

    does it need sp3 as you have sp2 instead?

    I don't know, maybe someone can answer that, but it is really strange as I haven't heard of anyone else having such a problem

    i have a customer with xp pro sp3 using latest skype & not having that problem.
