Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

WinAvi not finding .flv files

#1 09 Aug 2009 @ 18:44
Hi All,

I am having a torrid time wth WinAvi 8.0 recently. First, It refused to convert .flv files, coming up with the message
Quote:
cant convert either file is broken or relative decoder not installed.
I downloaded DIVX codecs pack. I tried to convert a MPG file to .AVI, it worked. When I went into my folder to pick a .FLV file for conversion, they don't show up! in the WinAvi window. Yet, when I go through to the folder via the usual way (Computer/Movies folder) there they are!

can anyone please tell me if they have had the same problem.

cheers

winavi video converter 8.0 won't convert flv files. You need the Winavi Flv converter which is a seperate program.
Or you can use the free avidemux, that works good converting flvs.

Even better is IVC (internet video converter) .. though why anybody would want to put a crap source like flv on anything ever (apart from goobtube) is a bit of a mystery.
