Can anyone recommend a good Xbox 360 controller emulator or joystick to keyboard mapping software?

Due to physical limitations I cannot use my left hand very well. So I prefer to use a joystick instead of the standard Xbox 360 controller. The problem is that many games do not accept or recognize my joystick.

I know that there are a couple of different Xbox 360 controller emulating software programs. I was wondering which one works the best.

I have used a couple of joystick to keyboard mapping programs. And from what I remember they really didn't allow for fluid in game character movement. Everything seems to be copy and herky-jerky. So I am looking for something that would perform reasonably well.

If anybody has any other suggestions as far as what I can do I would appreciate any advice.
