Sometimes you have to experiment.. not just the main .exe but the dll's as well... you could try running win95 in the dosbox emulator then loading the game from that virtual os.. or even from dos. though usually if they say win95 they need it.

I had fun with C+C a few years back with the same problem.. but after changing the properties on quite a few game files I got it to run.. you might have to add dos4gw into the game directory as well to get anywhere (learned from Kings Quest 3).

Those guys don't seem to be having any problems.. I used to install old games like this on a small fat32 partition.. for some reason a few didn't like running from ntfs.

now looking in my notes from ages ago I came across.. probably from helping somebody out maybe 5 years ago..

Put CD 1 in, Cancel the installation.
Explore your disc, change the program compatibility mode of the setup file to windows 95.

    Also click on these boxes

    Disable Visual Themes.
    Turn off advanced text services.

    get the game patches here

and follow the directions on dreamcatcher's site.

The only flaw i have seen is characters can seem jittery. But this can be fixed by fiddling with your hardware and audio acceleration.
