I purchased the Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows with a wireless controller and installed Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories from the CD. When I play my games for windows live, like fallout 3 or halo 2 I have no issues with the controller. However when I try to play games where you must configure the gamepad first my controller freaks out. For example when I try to play halo 1 I'll connect my controller to the receiver and then without pressing anything on my controller it just keeps scrolling down through the main menu. If I enter a game on halo all the control stick functions are skewed. Does anyone know what would be causing this issue? Please help this is driving me nuts!!!

get into control panel and access the game controllers area and reconfigure and recalibrate it...
