    Hello people.

I joined this forum back in 2006, and I havent used it for about 2 years, but on my return ive discovered that less people seem to reply to threads etc, by that I mean if you look at any of the console pages, you can find threads from 2 days ago on the 1st page. Before it seemed as though the first 2 pages for most systems would be with the present day now there about 4 days worth on 2 pages, has anyone else noticed this? or has there actually been a decline in use?

Yes, there have been noticable declines. That is a big part of why I wanted to find the google virus so bad...stuff like that makes existing users leave and new users stay away.

I don't think the low traffic applies to the entire site...
The Video/DVD+-R/Audio section seems pretty busy to me. Once in a full moon I visit the game console threads.

Most people who spend large amounts of time on Forums do it in 'waves', they get all excited and post lots for an extended period, then the novelty wears off and they either move to other sites or they lose the forum novelty i think. It does seem noticably quieter than say 2005/2006, which in the years i've been here seemed to be the busiest. I think i drove most of them away :p

Yeah, DDP never really drove anyone away...lots of bannings...but they always came back the next day (sometimes saying something like, "I need advice, but DDP is a piece of s**t")

I don't know about "nice", but you are a "kind" individual...the "kind" that strikes noobs(and not just noobs) with "lightning"!

I pop in once in a blue moon and there's definitely been a decline in traffic. Hard to say why really.

I remember some of the mods turned into nazis, which never helps a forum. A lot of the senior members left for whatever reason. The forum just fell behind in some way.

I've been here since 2002 myself and its true what Creaky said, users sort of come and go in waves, but it also depends really on what's going on in tech. I don't see any major drop in new users, but if the forums are less active I'm not sure that's exactly a bad thing ;-) It's always nice to have a calm few months every now and then, esp. for the moderators I would think.
