Hi , i wanted to share my experience with Newegg.. Recently i saw a refined Nikon D3000 SLR on Newegg site and it was comig 1 year warranty and i thought it was good deal and purchased it .. When i recieved the Nikon i saw the warranty paper says only 90 days warranty ..what a surprise ! then i called the Newegg customer service and a lady got my call after i explained everything guess what she said .."How can i help ?" ..what an answer...i was amazed with her answer..she was very unpro , like the guy from street..has no sign of customer rep. person , she soounds like you talking to someone from the Bar at the corner...whatever ...i ended up returning product BUT i decided to write a review on Newegg Product page so other doesn't fall in this phishing..but guess hwat happened..Newegg sent email and saying they can't publish my review because it is not their fault , they blamed to Nikon...here is the email i got from Newegg customer service...to honest all i was expecting an apogly and to correct their mistake..but no ...they cann't be ever wrong ..and i know some of you will say " oh i never had any problem with them "..yes untill now i haven't had any problem with them and i spent just $4000 last month on Newegg...but i slowly moving to Compusa.com which has much better customer service and are a lot more professional...anyway here is the email they sent... " My name is Bruce Wang. I am the representative of Newegg customer service department. I would like to assist you on this matter. First and foremost, please kindly note that all of the information that we are provided comes from the manufacturer directly. The manufacturer warranty is offered by manufacturer but not Newegg. However, I show that one of our agents has issued a refund RMA and a shipping label for you. Please allow 2-5 business days for the RMA to process once we receive your return package. Once processed, the refund will be posted into your original source of payment within 2-5 business days. Thanks for your cooperation and patience. Newegg is a terrible company; I don't even feel sorry for the people that they screw over anymore...if you are giving this terrible company money, then you deserve to get screwed...it is like when people shop at WalMart, only to complain when the new WalMart store causes them to loose their jobs.
So let me get this straight, You bought a camera from newegg (really you bought it through Nikon they just use newegg as the middle man) Nikon issues a "1 year warranty" but when you get it it only says for "90 days" You complain to newegg about Nikon changing their warranty (at least according to you they did. It could have been 90 days exchange and 1 year parts or something) Newegg tells you that you can return the camera for a full refund if you aren't happy with it You complain about newegg being a terrible company.. Does that sound about right?
well the point is if you buy something from someone(whether actually company or middleman) and they offer a 1 year warrenty they should provide that warrenty. If your paying the middle man and the middle man is supplying the product to you then the middle man is responsible for the warrenty.Bluexxx obviously wasn't happy with their service or attitude and has the right to complain if he wants.its called freedom of speech.
If he had purchased from amazon, one of these things would have happened: 1.) Amazon would have offered to extend the warranty at their expense. 2.) Amazon would have issued a partial refund to pay for the cost of an extended warranty plan. 3.) Amazon would have issued a full refund (including shipping), and would have sent a free shipping label, so that (other than time) nothing would be lost by the customer. Newegg was once a great site...back in the days when pricewatch.com was a vital tool.
