I was sorting a couple of TT cards for a friend as mine has worked happily for ages. Tried the first one and it was fine. Switched cards but the DS wouldn't even light up. Is this co-incidence or is it just that my 3 year old DS has finally given up and died on me?

    NO - Not a coincidence

Although rare the DSTT has more of a reputation for doing this than other slightly more expensive carts.

It has drawn too much current and blown the surface mount fuse, you will have to open up the DS and solder a replacement on to the board.

Throw that card away, if you put it in another DS it will probably blow that one as well

NO, they are bad from the start if they are bad. They dont go bad later on. Atleast not with blowing fuses anyway. From what I have read.
