Hello my ds lite is partially broken. When held normally the green light turns on and stays a solid green but neither screen will come on and there is no sound. However, when the ds is bent by adding a little pressure to the left hand side of the ds (where the battery is) it will turn on and stay on so long as the pressure is maintained. Now I assumed this was due to either the battery having a loose connection or the contacts being dirty. I have cleaned the contacts of the battery and I have inserted cardboard into the gaps beside the battery to hold it in place. This has had no effect on the performance.

Now I was wondering if anyone else had had similar problems and if you have, how did you fix it. If you have a general idea to help and can recognise the probable cause of the issue please post.

Just to add the fuses are fine and the battery holds its charge

It will be a poor contact on a component / crack in the printed circuit board. The easiest way to try and narrow down the possibilities is to remove the back of the DS and hold the battery in place. Turn on the unit and try to find the issue by trial and error.

Look at the joints on the larger components as these can become detatched as lead free solder that is now used is very poor and can easily have dry joints.
