I recieved a DS a few days ago and I my brother connected it with a usb cable to charge it.

I dissconnected later because I don't know if it doesn't harm the DS. I checked some sites about it and I see that people do some changes in the cable so it will charge the DS from a computer, but I didn't understand it.

So is it safe to charge it with an ordinary usb cable? I didn't see anything about it in the site's FAQ.

    Thanks in advance

It's safe if you have the proper cable.

    For instance, this one.

The cable that I talked about does fit to the ds charge slot(it has only two ends not like the one in your link). So does a computer recognize the amount of voltage needed for the ds?
Or maybe I should connect it to a usb charger(something that is used for pda and mp3)? (the usb charger has 5v~~800mA)

Thanks a lot if you can answer this
