Hey, So I'm considering picking up the 25th Anniversary Mario DSi XL when it's released next week, but I have some questions before I do. I've been tempted to check out the XL before but this anniversary edition may be the decision maker. 1. Do games look bad on the larger screens? Now I'm not a ultra clarity fanboy who would notice the mildest change in aliasing or whatever, but I'm also not a Grandmother. I hear mixed reports, some say it's so bad it's almost unplayable, some say it's bearable, some say it's not an issue. 2. Can I play import games on it? It'll be a UK console, so will it play JP / US carts? 3. Can it run homebrew? I've got an AceKard2i. If so, is there anything I should/shouldn't do with it before using it with the AceKard? Thanks
1) I've played on a few XL's and didn't really notice any problems with the resolution. But then some people complain about it a lot. My advice is to see it yourself. Most game stores have one set up as a demo that you can try out. 2) From what I hear, yes. But I dont have any friends who commonly import games and none of them have a DSi/XL. 3) Any flashcarts and homebrew that run on a DSi will also run on an XL. The only difference between them is the screen size.
