I am in the process of purchasing a DS 3D for one of my family,and would like to know if the Acekard/i she is using on her current DS/XL unit would work/play the games she already has on this card,at present she is not interested in 3D game.

Don't know what the firmware will be about the new 3DS, if it is the latest 3DS V4.0, then you may have to update the ak2i first before use it on the 3DS V4.0. But you have a DS console, then it is easy to update the card. So no worry. And if she also has some games on the SD card. she still can play them too.
far as i knew,ak2i can work well on 3ds v4.0.0-7 or lower version perfectly.You can ask a store to install firmware for you in advance,so you dont need another console to update your card.If you need,here is one of store that i bought from : http://www.digitopz.com/acekard-2i-p-25.html , official agent,preinstalled firmware,free shipping,works well. Thanks mates for all your replies. The acekard 2i she is using on her DS/XL does not have the 3D logo on her card,does that mean it will not work on the 3D unit. PS..Thanks for the links also.
