Hi Im new to this site, ive been reading the last couple of day's but just can't find what im after, so thought i would post and hopefully someone might be able to help me I purchased a couple of 4gb M3 rumble packs i put some games on there but I ve since tried to put games on a fresh card but it will not work. when i say it won't work, i have everything on there, it opens up on the DS but i can't physically open up a game, when i select a game it just won't open and won't do a thing (i cant even move the page up or down) I tried to open up a game we had been playing previous too so it wasn't a new game as such. I then tried to add games to another card but by what ive read on here you can only have 127 things in a folder i have put more so i think on both cards i have put more than i can.. Since i buggered up the 1st card, i saved the first card on the computer so if i stuffed up i could just go back to the original card, but that wont even work. (think cause i tried to add more in the folder than im allowed) Question is how do i fix this, can i format the card and start from scratch and do what i have read on here and put more than one folder on the micro card or am i stuffed. Hope this makes sense.. Cheers Rash
Make another folder and transfer some files to the new folder. However, if you have also filled the card to capacity it could have overwritten some files - the card needs free space to operate (create save files etc) leave at least 2MB per rom free space (100 roms on the card = 200MB free space) I would format the card and start again
Thanks for getting back to me Kittymat i really appreciate it. As this is for my daughters and trying to teach my 4 year old how to get into the folders is very hard, my 6 you can do it but not the younger one. I ended up re-formatting it and made up a couple of extra folders (NDS, NDS1 and NDS2) or should i just call them all NDS???? i put about 40 games in the first 2 and only about 8 in the last one. Its a 4gb card and it's not even half full When i still go to settings and change it so NDS folder opens up not the main screen this is when it jambs up... even does this when i have one folder in it with 3 games. (not sure if explained my self there correctly) It only started to do this since i added more games to it.. Not sure what ive done wrong Thanks again for getting back to me i do appreciate it
For ease of use dump your current firmware and download this http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=6123, simple tap or slide to operate, my daughter has no problems with this one. Format the card, put on this system folder, right click it and select properties and hide the folder (stops eager kids opening the system folder) Create other folders and with this - call them what you like (Brain Games, Games A-H etc etc) Put on ONE good rom you know has been working in the past in any folder - a faulty rom can cause crashing issues. Try to see if it boots - if you regularly get the DS starting to the start up screen rather than the M3 card, then look up the paper shim trick - or get back to me if it is still causing issues. Good Luck
Thanks Kittymat What does Tap or slide mean?? I will dump the old system and download the new one to the M3 card i clicked on the tap link but no helpful info was there, and not sure what to google on that.. Thank you again, i really do appreciate your help
Sorry - everything in the menu, is either double tap (click) or slide to the right. It is a lot easier to see everything and use. The Tap link is just put up by the website - I added nothing, it also does it with firmware and other words you type.
