1. you need to go to your cards manufacture site and download the latest firmware update for that card that supports the latest dsi update then you can update no issues.
But remember you need to update the card 1st if you don't once you update the dsi your card will stop working

one last thing? what is the latest firmware? do you know by chance? my dsi xl currently has 1.4.1u if i remember correctly
