Among the number of first-party Nintendo games confusingly having their release dates pushed back, or just forgotten about, here's one that's appeared out of nowhere! Originally introduced to the public in a press conference last year, Atsumete! Kirby (that's Gather! Kirby for you Australians) will be seeing a release in Japan early July.

Atsumete! Kirby has your usual side-scrolling Kirby feel to it, but as many of Kirby's other DS games, has a slight twist of lemon. Featuring different game mechanics that may disappoint some as much as it may please others. Instead of inhaling enemies to copy their abilities, you'll need to keep several (up to a maximum of ten) Kirbys under control. You'll be able to gather more Kirbys by inhaling different fruits around each level.

Controlling the game involves moving your Kirby(s) with the stylus, with intuitive controls such as holding your stylus down to create a star that all your pink fluffy friends will gaze at and gather around. Using this method you'll be able to clear obstacles, destroy enemies, and create fairy floss. You'll even be able to command one Kirby to rescue another before they die.

Surprisingly enough this Kirby game will be released for the Nintendo DS, which will make it the fourth and assumingly final game for the console. Atsumete! Kirby will release in Japan on July 7. No set date has been made for our region yet, but expect some more information at E3 next month.

Kirby is coming to DS on 7th July in Japan.
Nintendo has not yet announced any plans to bring Atsumete! Kirby to the west, but E3 is soon, so stay tuned.
