new NDS XL user

Hi guys,
I'm a new user in the NDS world and I have purchased the Nintendo DS XL. Today I have downloaded several ROM's games and I have also purchased an SD card. I have transferred the files, which have the extension (**.nds) to the SD card and I have plugged the SD card in to the SD card slot (in the side of the DS XL) not to the game card place (behind the console). But when I go the Data Management in the setting it tells me there are no files in the SD card. I don't know what to do. In fact, I don't know if I have done the right procedures or not. Kindly help me out if I need to download programs or anything to make these ROMs files work on my DS XL. Also, bear in mind that I have an SD card, which measures about 1.5 cm to 2.5 cm, so it is not a microSD that plugs to R4.
Kindly tell me what to do????

You need to buy a flashcart to get roms run . Acekard 2i is a good choice .

1. Format the MicroSD with the Panasonic formatter (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=4003).
2. Download the latest version of AKAIO (http://www.akaio.net/forum/) after downloading, extract and put the _aio folder and akmenu4.nds in the root of your MicroSD card.
3. Download the latest loader (http://akaio.net/loaders/). Extract and put the file ak2loader.nds in _aio/loaders . Created a folder called whatever you want to the root of the microSD , and put .nds file into it .
4. Insert the MicroSD card in you Acekard.
5. Insert the Acekard in your DS.
6. Done. Enjoy.
