    Please help
I have just purchased an r4 card for my son. I bought it from a website called digizo and although they didn't send me the disk they provide a link to download the software. I have tried this, downloading it straight to the sd card, but it still doesn't work. It comes up with the message 'can't find ds menu.dat'. Is there something else i should be doing?
    Thanks
    Karan

download the firmware, extract it directly to the memory card. if they have sent you the correct link then it should work.

Thanks for your advice. I have downloaded the firmware from the link you supplied, as well as winrar and have downloaded a link to format the SD card. When i put a game on it it started loading and then gave an error message. I have tried the R4 without the Sd and it continues to the clock page. It is now coming up with the original 'couldn't find DS menu.dat' message.

try this, friend of mine had the same problem no matter what even if the firmware was on the card properly he would still get the same error you are getting.

the solution was to format the memory card in fat32 format and where it says allocation size set it to 4096 bytes after format is complete re load your firmware onto the memory card and it may just solve your problem.
