Indeed, but it makes us 'feel' safer :)

I keep meaning to look into that, UTorrent supports that but can't remember if it's in 1.8.2 (ie the version i use) or in a newer version. As i said above and elsewhere, i'm too attached to 1.8.2 and i didn't like some of the stuff i read about version 2.0 (can't remember what it was now).

scum101 Suspended due non-functional email address
Could be that reports on r-force and others showed how it sprayed filenames and location url's to people on time warner and sony media blocklists and very close ranges even with the so called "blocklist manager" running??

I remember us having a chat about it at the time.. don't forget who owns ”torrent.

btw <Alt Gr> m = ”

@creaky

Thanks for the peerblock mention. It appears to be the exact program that peerguardian is. Same looking interface for install and actual running window. Installed just like I did pg2 except this time it downloaded all the stuff it was supposed to. Took about 10 sec or less to update lists. peerblock 1.0. I very seldom download anything anyway but it's nice to know there is some help albeit how helpful, quien sabe.

mis4ta it's for you. Check it out mez.

Good stuff. Haven't had a chance to investigate peerblock much, too busy reading up on Chavez (Venezuela) accusing the US of using their HAARP technology to create the Haiti earthquakes, and the US allegedly performing Haiti disaster simulations the day before the first earthquake.
So i just did a quick google as the peerblock site doesn't have any screenshots available, found this ~

So it does indeed look like a twin of PG2.

Back to my researching, looks like another long night trawling the alternative news sites..

rtm27 uses peerblock i think, maybe he can offer some feedback on his experience with it.

Just checked my PG2, it's currently blocking 2,625,306,095, ie 1,850,390,749 more IP addresses than yours :o, you should look into BLM and add that to your existing list(s)..

Don't try to reinstall it. Leave well enough alone. Adding to it requires more training and time. I'll settle for what I got for now.LOL

I didn't explain myself. I had a problem with viruses. They hit me like a plague. I suspect one got in under the fence then took out the firewall and probably compromised the virus scanner. PG stopped updating block lists around that time so I was just suspicious. A reinstall didn't help anything. I tend to be a bit paranoid.

Adding BLM to peerblock is the same as adding it to pg2. Guesswho mentioned peerblock in a post about peerguardian, and I decided to give it a go....after doing some searching online about it. It seemed to pick up where pg2 was headed, and with BLM enabled on my laptop, peerblock is blocking 2,698,240,233 ip's, and I think my desktop is blocking about the same number. I don't tend to d/l more than 2 or 3 at a time....anymore while I'm at work.

Mez

pg2 has not been able to update for months. I think the program is dead. Reincarnated as peerblock. JM2C.

Forget the torrents and worries about scumsbags sniffing your machine. Direct storage sites is the way to go, plenty of scenes.
