So yea, been using BitComet for the last few years, been very happy with it overall. I like the GUI, the speeds and the customization/encryption but it seems most of my fav private trackers are banning Bitcomet because the Dev's are being jerks with the coding to "cheat". So I need something new.

I've tried Utorrent for a short while and I don't particularly like it, because its not very nice and its quite slow. Plus they seem to get banned a lot too. Although I haven't tried any releases in the last 3 months.

Any1 have a good, stable Torrent client they would like to suggest?

It has been banned not because it is a genious app but because it is a idiot app. It has never figured out how to correctly record your upload and donloads. It is routinely off 500% up or down. Private sites don't want to deal with software that can't do that right after sooooooo many years of complaints (5+ years). The makers have to be morons!

Have you ever concidered that maybe you are the problem not the software. Between utorrent and bittorrent (the same software) they have over 60% of all the usage. BC is less than 10%. Did you figure you and the rest of the 10% are one of the only persons with any sense?

You complaint is common comming from BC. It takes a while to figure out how to use it. Correctly configured and used, you should do much better not worse. You will need to set limits to keep your ISP off your back.

What you may want to do is, increase the current jobs of both up and down. You do not have the power to speed up anyone else but you do have the power to increase how many jobs you are doing. I suggest 20+ down and at least double that up.

You might want to try Vuze, that is more like BC. However, UT or BT is the fastest in the long haul.

I've used Utorrent a few times and no matter how it was configured it gave me problems.
And my ISP throttles, took me a while to get BC to work at decent speeds with it, but Utorrent doesn't seem to want to connect to anything, no matter how many seeds there are. It was just terrible.

So its not me unless my ISP has targeted Utorrent in particular somehow... But it just doesn't get any speeds near decent, no matter how its configured.

Vuze was also garbage imo. I guess I'll just stick with BC for now and not use my old private trackers, even though its getting banned on a lot of my fav's, BC still destroys every other Torrent App I've tried out...

Nothing wrong with UTorrent here, you just need to configure it correctly, your download site(s) should have indepth guides plus there's loads of info on the net.

It is possiblle fuel_f2f's ISP has a hard nut for Utorrent. I know for a fact mine hated BC and Vuze. I say that because you could be running one client then load one of those 2 and everything got throttled to near nothing 80% - 90% reduction. Your ISP can do what they what these days. Years ago you could fight the battle and win but at least mine can stop all uploads, torrents & FTP and not effect surfing. They can also block sites so you ought to respect them or pay the price.

Yea in Canada we have the lazy CRTC which doesn't want to get involved in regulating internet. They claim that there is enough competition in the country to not need regulation as competitors will try to provide better services and lower prices than their rivals.

Well the only two companies in my area is Bragg(Eastlink/Persona/Delta) and BellAliant. They raise their rates at the same time as each other each year while my internet "gets faster" but anything other than browsing gets slower and slower. Eastlink went from a max of 5MB cable years ago to 10MB and raised their prices, my speed never increased but I had more latency. They they increased to 15MB and my connection has never been slower. But the prices, they have never been so high. Gotta love it.

Oh well, the CRTC is getting too much criticism these days from study after study showing Canada lagging behind almost all other developed countries in quality of high speed while we rank near the top in the amount people have to pay. Hopefully something will get done and I can finally get the 15MB connection I am supposedly paying for...

I use vuze with no problems, and quite often I have to set max up and down speeds so I don't bog down my web browsing. It is a little bloated but it works for me. I haven't tried any of the other clients though.

I know how you feel about your internet predicament. I'm still on dial up at my house and I have to go over to a relative's house to do any torrenting. I don't have any options besides satellite and there is no way I'm paying for that overpriced garbage. I've called AT&T, Comcast, and Charter. But Comcast and Charter just bounce me back and forth, and AT&T just says "they're working on it". Sad part is, is that I don't live in the boonies, there are at least 30-40 houses within a mile of me, but according to the reps they want 50-60+ houses otherwise it's not "profitable".

But enough of my mini rant. I don't know of any client that would work for you as they all can "cheat" by editing a file or two. Do they have a list of recommended clients you can use?
