So i obviously use torrents and have for a long time but i just recently got a new computer that runs on Vista of course and i want to have an IP protections program running... So on my old computer i just ran Peer Guardian 2 and that seemed to work fantastically so i want to stick to that again on this new computer but every time i download peer guardian 2 or protowall neither of the programs will run for Peer Guardian this is the message it shows...
PeerGuardian is unable to load the packet filtering driver.
This could happen if PeerGuardian crashed and didn't have a chance to unload the driver, or if the file pgfilter.sys can't be found.
class win32_error
StartService
577
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.
So what does that all mean how can i fix this?

Not sure why you're getting that as I have PG2 installed on my lappy running vista home premium.

Maybe it is one of Sony's usual tricks ie blocking things they don't like, I wouldn't be surprised. I like their TV's but would never buy a Sony PC/laptop but i digress. You can see if your torrent program has IP filtering of it's own ie you could try importing the list created by BLM into the torrent program directly ie negating the need for Peer Guardian.
I use UTorrent and i think it has IP filtering options but not sure as have never bothered to look being as BLM/PG2 work for me..
Have a look thru here also ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/791271/4789631

you shouldn't be using peerguardian anymore. It's barely supported. Peerblock is the program to use now.

Peerguardian 2 does not work with 64 bits Vista currently. It surely works with 32 bits Vista, can you believe an ip blocker uses a filter driver, say, a driver can easily be replaced any another filter driver without any warnning. Being a replacement, beethink ip blocker works with NDIS driver(can not easily be removed), supports both 32 bits and 64 bits Windows, easyer to use and professional.....
But you have to pay for it!
