Hello, I am new to this forum. I am looking for advice on video editing software. I need to be able to cut and split video clips as well as the other basic stuff. I need advice on what software is the easiest and best to use. Any help is greatly appreciated.. Thank you. Steve
These are the tools i use with the exception of dvdshrink as it is now part of nero DVDFAB-free to rip always - the rest of it is 30 day trial Anydvd & Clonedvd2 - may as well get clonecd too as a package deal nero recode dvdshrink free always- not been updated for a while as now part of nero recode More in the software section
Thank you for the advice. But I am not looking to copy dvds. I video taken by me and put on my computer that I want to edit, then burn to disc. I need a simple and good video editor that splits, and cuts video clips. Any ideas?? Thanks..
ok so it's in avi or some other format then & not in vob file like a ripped dvd would be,hmmm at a guess the best bet is search software section you may also have to use either dvdflick or is it AutoGK one of them converts the file to dvd format which will allow editing with some of the previously mention software,if you want to add menu's you would most likely need to convert to a mkv container,i may as well mention hand brake tho it handles dvd's to mpeg or whatever container, yeah anyway that's all i got haali media splitter http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/introduction_haali_media_splitter.cfm avidemux http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_video/video_tools/avidemux.cfm
Have a look at Aimersoft Video Express Studio (not free but decent price and does a good job with avi, also converts to many formats). Not sure but maybe AVS Video Editor (bit pricier). Virtualdub is free and does some simple editing.
Hi there. Long time problem I need help with please. I have captured footage from my Nintendo Wii at 480p (720x480) using a Hauppauge HD PVR & recorded files in M2TS. To edit & render the videos I am using Cyberlink Power Director 8. Now the problem is that even though the Source footage is progressive and is detected as progressive, when rendered & played back the video shows signs of interlacing? When it comes to settings to render the video I keep the resolution at 720x480 & save it as a M2TS file so it should stay the same. I have saved it as many other types of files e.g Avi, Mpeg, WMV but none have worked. Any help on the matter is much appreciated. Regards OArcadiaO
cinelerra.. not available for windoze.. unless you compile from source... for bog standard editing avidemux works very well.. crop/resize/edit/join.. very simple.. and free. M2TS is a shit proprietary codec.. avoid proprietary/microsucks only garbage.. stick to mpeg/mp4 standards compliant where possible.. it's that crap codec giving you the apparent interlacing artifacts.
sorry to jump in on this, but I just downloaded Sony Vegas Platinum HD 10 and I got a keygen for it also. Tried loading in the auth code from the keygen but it bombs out every time. Does this only work on Vista/Win 7? I have Win XP Would like a HD editor as all my raw files are from a HD Camcorder. Thanks
I am looking for a different video editor. I only want to add, remove, rearrange scenes in video captured as Mpeg. I have been using old Ulead software, but I am having a problem- I can edit out half the video, and save it in the same file format, but the file is BIGGER, not smaller. I don't understand this. The size gets out of hand - is there a simple free or inexpensive editor available?
Hi I has long been used this program to crop, and resize: http://www.geovid.com/VidCrop/ supports many video formats, easy interface. i hope, this help you.
Thank you, but when I looked into it, it appears to recode each time, and recoding is why the files keep getting bigger. I dont want to change anything at all, I simply want to delete some footage. Am I misunderstanding the process, or is there any software that simply slices out what you dont want?
You'll probably want one of the paid programs, like roxio, nero, or like someone has already said sony vegas. These are more video editors and less of file convertors.
Thank you. I have an older version of nero (v7 I think) that I never even installed. I will try it. I remember someone somewhere mentioning software with a name similar to wombat or womble or something like that. Know anything about it?
Hi.I was wondering if anyone could help me with recommending a video editing program to cut small clips like from gametrailers.com to import the clip inot a forum signature? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
As I also, am looking for software that will cut/split/join an AVI or a WMV. I have clicked on the software links in this thread but I am unclear on the some of the functions of the software. I just want to be able to cut/trim/split then splice the vid without rendering it. I do not wish to lose vid quality. The software sites may hint at something but after I purchase, it's almost always something different. I am getting software poor. So I am asking if anyone else has experience using software for my simple task. Thanks.
Voblanker can remove section/s however you need to convert the avi or whatever to vob first, remove section then recode back to avi, only person round here i know that would know if there is a program that can cut directly out of avi or whatever is member attar edit: avi demux might be able to cut sections directly
