This is bogus. First of all it doesn't play dvd movies I put in my drive, and secondly it doesn't play any video of files saved on my computer, just audio. Whoever recommended this product did not explain this point or how to view and hear a MP4 file or dvd. Can anybody dispute this or tell me what is going on? Most of the guys on here are pretty great at solving this sort of thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

very simple really.. it either needs a heap of possibly conflicting codecs installing with it... or use a brain and install vlc .. the swiss army knife player.

varnull is right. Either try VLC, or if you want to go the codec
    route, give FFDshow a try.

However as a long time user of Media Player Classic, supplied by the (perfectly safe) K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. I'm guessing you downloaded Media Player CLassic on it's own as i don't have any issues playing anything. I do have VLC installed also. If you don't have it already, FFDshow is a good suggestion (my FFDshow was installed by K-Lite).
