Hi, hope someone can help me asap... sorry have 3 questions! I am trying to create a movie approx 1h long for a big exhibition next week... I am trying to clip together loads of small movies into a hour long movie that will run all day... the files im iporting are vob/ mpg/ avi 1. the programme I am using (only because I am familar is AfterEffects).. is this ok to convert to a DVD? 2. I am having problems with the VOB files from the DVDs... Ive renamed them to .mpg and imported into AE... but the movies seem to have lines around objects?... when I play from my PC from the DVD they look great, but as soon as I import and export to an AVI they look slightly wrong?? Am I doing something wrong? 3. Also I need to play this movie on a 65" Plasma..... I want it to fill the whole screen (its UK)... is the best one to convert to Standard PAL or Widescreen PAL?
What you want to do I do all the time with womble mpeg video wizard dvd 4.0.4.113. That's the version I have. I usually use videos I download from youtube (first convert to avi)to make my own compilations, and sometimes I add vob's to the mix. I've had mpegs/mp4/avi/vobs including titles/transitions and 2nd audio tracks all at the same time on the timeline and edited it into a dvd. Womble just came out with version 5 but it's too expensive, you can still find version 4.0 at discontinued prices and works the same as version 5.0. As far as filling the whole screen, you can crop the blackbars out then uncheck the box to maintain aspect ratio. That always works for me. AfterEffects is too powerful/complicated of software for what you want to do, it can do it but you need to spend hours reading the instruction book. With womble I just throw the clips onto the timeline and edit them quickly. The output video looks very good, the dvd sections maintain about the same quality as the original.
