Hi all I am trying to link 3 AVI files of different frame rates. What is the best way to do this? IS there anything free that does this? Thanks
AviDemux can join (append) AVI files. They have to be the same frame rate (fps) and they also have to be the same resolution (W x H) which perhaps means resizing or cropping. You can find out the fps by dragging/loading a file into AviDemux and click 'File' > 'Properties'. Select the file you wish to change. On the left of the screen set: 'Format' -> 'AVI' 'Video' -> 'Mpeg-4 asp Xvid4' Click 'Filters' and select 'Resample fps' - set the frame rate. Back on the main window Save the new file (give it a full name including the extension, eg new.avi) Close AviDemux. When ready to append the files, drag the first one onto the window and either drag or File> Append subsequent files. Leave the left side settings at Copy and save the new joined file.
I think that one or other of the joined files would have no audio. Assume working with the second file and it's to be same as the first: mp3, 44100 at 128KHz . You can open the file in Avidemux and set the audio (left side menu)Lame mp3. 'Configure' the bitrate to 44100. 'Filter' the sampling rate to 128. Leave the Video at 'Copy' and save the file (full name including extension, e.g. newfile.avi). Close the current file and drag in the first and new files.
I have converted both files to match and are exactly how I want them if I play them separately. In the preview when I try to merge them, the moment it reaches the second video, the sound goes all weird. Any suggestions?
They have the same Bitrate and Sample rate? If the bitrate is different, the second part might sound speeded up. If they are the same, try appending with VirtualDubMod (use Video > Direct stream Copy).
