I have clonedvd anydvd and divx pro willing to download software but not any monthly fee software if possible. i would also like to try and condence the movies so i can get more of them on my hard drive i have about 800 dvds. I am new to this and not the most tech savy guy so thank you for any help you can give.

Rip all the movies to your hard drive, then use HadBrake to convert to an MKV or MP4, if your player?? supports them, otherwise use AutoGK and convert to an AVI(with MKV/MP4 you will be using X.264 as a codec, get better quality in a smaller size).

I use WinX DVD Ripper Platinum to rip my DVDs. I got it for free from GOTD before, but not sure it is available to free download now. You could try to search for a free copy. Good luck.

If you got it for free from GOTD, it means you'll have no updates to be able to rip new movies with new encryption. DVDFab is free for good, and you can update it.
