    I'm trying to burn a DVD9 to a BD-RW, instead of compressing it to a DVD-5.
I'm using Toast to do it, and my Mac DVD player can play it with no problem, but my PS3 only shows it as a Data disc.

Has anybody tried to do this with success for playback in PS3?

    Thanks!

Question....why are you trying to burn SD (STANDARD DEFINITION)DVD-9 to a BD (HIGH DEFINITION)RE? There are no advantages with this for playback, why not use a SD DVD9 DUAL LAYER blank media? But I guess if your looking to BD-RE disc for storage SD DVD files then BD-RE 25GB or 50GB media offer lots of back up space. Please elaborate (explain).

The reason is that I don't want to waste DVD-9s, since there aren't RW for this type.
I don't want to compress the video further to a DVD-5.
But I have BD-RW of 25GB so I thought to burning them there instead
