I recently enabled my LG LD450 HDTV to support video playback via USB. It plays standard avi's perfectly, but when it comes to playing 1080p, apparently the file needs to be an .mkv. Whilst pretty much every 1080p/blu ray file I've come across is of the .x264 variety.
I did some reading and i'm having trouble distinguishing between the two, is it easy enough to convert a .x264 file to .mkv without loss of quality or increase in file size?
