Does anyone know a good blu-ray drive?

Hey,

I was thinking of getting a drive with for my computer to do backup copies of my blu-rays, but I also want it to read the blu-ray as well. I have a Mac and a PC. Is there one that is compatible with both? Or do I have to buy separate ones?

2. A reasonable assumption is that all MAC blu-ray burners will work on a PC, but not all PC blu-ray burners will work on a MAC.

Since you want it to share a Mac/PC, I would assume that you are looking for an external unit.

If you don't mind paying the "MAC tax", I'd look for a Mac product first.

Alright... Originally I was looking at the Lite-on ones. I believe those are PC ones so I wouldn't risk it because I have a Mac

Let me ask some Mac users at work, but if you Google, I'm sure that there's a list of Mac compatible Blu-ray burners out there.

Alright I got a drive from a friend. It is a lite-on and works with a mac. It has been serving me well. I am able to do what I want but I have to give the drive back. Grrrrrrr they are so expensive and I would rather buy a motorcycle hahaha.
