Hey everyone, this is my first post and I just wanted to say this is an awesome community, I've been directed from Google searches MANY time and have been reading the forums for quite a while but decided to register today. Hello! Now as to my problem. I have an MKV file of the hangover. I want to convert it to AVI (Basically I'm really bored and up for a challenge haha. Also when I burned the MKV with ConvertXtoDVD, the audio was out of sync in some places, not throughout the entire move though which I found quite strange. But the audio is perfect in VLC) Anyway, I used "MKVExtractGUI" to extract the .H264 and AC3 files. Then I used "avc2avi" to convert the MKV to AVI (without audio of course). Here is where things start to go wrong. The AVI file produced is only (Hours:Mins:Secs) 1:43:28 when my original MKV is 1:47:53. Where did those 4 minutes go? Also, I tried to open the file in VLC AND Virtualdub and I found out the AVI Index was corrupt, so I loaded the AVI in "avidemux" and used the rebuild frames tool. VLC now plays the file without a hitch and Virtualdub opens it with no problem BUT, now I want to add the audio. So i converted the AC3 to MP3 using BeSweet and it converted correctly and I now have a 1:47:53 MP3 file. I loaded it into Virtualdub and did the interlacing offset to match it with the file but no matter what I do I can't get it in sync. Whew! Sorry this is so long especially for a first post but I wanted to give you guys ALL the details. I'll be happy to clear anything up if I didn't make it clear in this post and I hope you guys can help me!
Well I fixed my problem! I extracted the TimeCode and merged the AVI and TimeCode in TC-GUI and then loaded that AVI and AC3 stream in VirtualDubMOD and set frame rate (119.880) for source rate adjustment but changed Frame rate conversion to: Convert to fps: 23.976 All works now!
