    You will need:

    A Quad Core processor
A motherboard that can support a quad core with 4GB of ram
    A Bluray Burner
Imgburn, AnyDVDHD, BDRebuilder, FFDshow, Matroska Splitter, AVIsynth
CyberLink Power DVD 8 or 9 ultra for watching your Blurays
NERO 9 is a good software for backing up data on Blurays.

What is a Quad Core processor, how do you tell if your mother board can support Quad Core, and what are the prices of a blu ray burner?

Sorry for the questions, but I'm new at this too. Regular DVD's yes, blu ray, new.

If you're not for sure if your motherboard is compatible with a quad core, you most likely will need to buy a new motherboard. A quad core processor will help with bluray encoding. A single core processor takes 40-50 hours, and a quad core takes about 6-8 hours.

    Bluray burners are $120-$160
