I have a very annoying problem with my Panasonic DMP-BD80 Blu-ray player which I’m hoping someone can solve. When connected to the TV via HDMI I get white snow on the start-up screen but once the movie starts, the snow disappears. If I play a DVD in the BD player the snow is still there at the start-up screen but also remains during playback. I wondered if it was the HDMI cable (Monster 1000HD/35 feet) but my regular DVD player connected to the TV with the same HDMI cable has no issues what-so-ever. If I connect the BD player to the TV with a different/shorter/lower quality HDMI cable there seems to be no issues. Unless there is a problem with the player I don’t understand why the snow is there on the start-up menu but not during playback of a BD Disc or why I dont see the same issues with the DVD player using the same cable? Anyone have any ideas?
