I have a new LCD with built in HD Freeview reciever. I have picked up all freeview channels. However some channels including ITV has "low signal strength". I have noticed that analogue reception on all 5 channels is very poor. (snowy, grainy picture). After several scans i simply cannot pickup any HD channels. There are no Channels 50,51,52. After visiting several websites i have the following info: Freeview HD available: 30 March 2010 Distance to transmitters: •Sutton.C- 42.6km 26.5 miles southwest 217° signal strength 75% ("GOOD") •Waltham - 45.4km 28.2 miles e-se 104° signal strength 45% ("GOOD") •Derby - 4.0km 2.5 miles west 268° signal strength 25% ("VARIABLE") •Notts - 16.2km 10.1 miles northeast 55° signal strenght 20 ("poor") Antenna height 10metres Waltham - BBC: UHF 49 effective radiated power: 10k DIGITAL: UHF 23 effective radiated power: 8k SuttonC - BBC: UHF 41 effective radiated power: 8k DIGITAL: UHF 44 effective radiated power: 8k AERIAL: Standard type - Yagi aerial (184 teletext test passed) i have tested the tv for both Digital & Analogue reception and outcome is same in all rooms. My TV is not sharing the aerial with anyone (the other tv is connected to Sky digital). Any ideas from anyone would be extremely helpful becos i specifically bought the tv to watch the worldcup in HD (and why not i say!). Do i need a new roof aerial? can a standard roof aerial actually recieve quality HD signal? Are people derby/derbyshire experiencing same problems with HD? many thanks
