I currently purchased a hp mini through verizon wireless and was wondering if I could use the television as a monitor

Yes, with a couple of caveats:

    1) Provided that you can find the very hard to get VGA cable (not included)

2)It'll probably look like c**p since the Mini has a max resolution of 1024 x 768.

The hp mini only has usb connections, not anything for the vga hookup. Is there any way around that issue?

The VGA cable connects to the expansion port on the left side of the netbook.

AFAIK, there is no known USB to Video Option that works.

Are you sure your card will display on a tv,even if it could it's unlikely you'd get a color picture, take a look not all cards are tv enabled they're only meant for monitors, best check before spending money
