    Does your TV support 1080p/i?

Set the DVD back to 720p to get your screen back.

The user's manual should tell you. I know how to do it on mine from reading the user's manual.

You will have to set the DVD player to 720p or buy a new TV that supports 1080i/p.

You cannot watch 1080 on your TV.

    It will not "compress it".

It is different for every DVD player. I would usggest you start by RTFM.

Well, if you had provided (or provide) the model number of the DVD player one of us might have been able to help you. Otherwise, every DVD player is different so there is no one way to do it.

I think this is a fake problem but I felt I should say something...

If the TV is displaying a picture at all then its processing supports 1080p (even though it has a 720p screen). I think faolteam may have an issue with the black bars on the screen not the resolution setting.

Page 89 of the english manual.

    1. Press System Menu while the recorder is in stop mode
    2. Select "initial Setup" and press Enter
    3. Select HDMI Output, press ENTER
    4. Select 1280 x 720p.

If this restores you to full screen, your TV cannot support 1080 mode.

    Good luck.

Read up on dyslexia, if you have a lot of text in one place (such as a DVD Player Manual) then it can be very difficult for suffers to read.

Our lass has it so thats how I know
