I am looking at buying a NAS drive to stream HD content to my PS3 without my computer being on as my 720HD movies stutter when streamed over my homeplug network.

As mentioned I would like to store HD movies which I know can be a problem with anything over 4GB. I have read that it is possible for the drive to split the file but treat it as one (if I have read it correctly), however I don't know if this true. Could somebody please confirm if this is possible.

Secondly I am considering buying an enclose that will allow for 2 drives to enable RAID 1 (Mirror) to reduce the probability of loosing data. Would anybody recommend this or just buy a standard NAS drive in a fixed enclosure.

I would like to have a bitTorrent client and FTP server within the NAS drive, and am looking at a drive space of 1.5Tb.

Could anybody recommend any particular NAS drives / enclosure, or give me any tips about picking one?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You're looking at $300-500 USD just for the enclosure.

Too steep for my blood so I quit looking once I saw the prices.

Unless your PS3 has Gigibit Ethernet I doubt that you would see any difference over your "homeplug" network.
