I have the Cert and Key files to sign symbian application however recently I sent my fone to repair and Nokia change the whole motherboard of the fone hence IMEI number change.

I was given the new one but when I try to sign applications using those two files it doesn't work. My question is how do I change the IMEI numbers in both files?

    Many Thanks

are you writing your own applications?

I use a hex editor and look for the string and change it... but haven't for ages now.. tomtom maps was the last I did maybe 2 years back..

Is your key file an application.. dos.. key.exe? you will need to find out precisely which revision of the symbian you are running also.. That is checked by the key generator against the info contained in the cert file... and the cert file will now be invalid.. so find the one you started with or look for another master cert file out there somewhere.

It should be easy.. start over with the empty cert file and the first time you run the keymaker against it with the phone connected it will fill in the blanks.. or should.. That's how I remember it went.

This is dangerously close to cracking talk. I'm not really comfortable giving any more than generic info on this site. If you are a legit nokia apps dev I can't see why you would need to ask this kind of question.

You can go to 'cer.opda.cn/en' and register using your new IMEI. It will then generate a new .cer and .key files for your phone, on-line. Then, you can either sign applications on-line or download those two files and sign applications yourself.
