Problems Switching discs on multi disc PSX eboots

ok, as the title implies, i am having a problem going from disc 1 to 2 to whatever on my psp. i've looked ALL OVER for the answer and come up short each time
soooo, my cfw is 5.50 m33-6 using prometheus
i've tried to play FFVII from a save i got from my ps3
so at fist i'm like ok, nothing should go wrong...
and the the game tells me to switch to disc 2
so i did.
nothing. keeps telling me to switch. nothing i do lets me get past that screen
and popsloader isn't working right either
i'm not getting asked for which firmware i wanna use or whatever
could it be because i'm using an adapter that allows two 32gb Micro SDHC cards to be utilized as one?
i'm REALLY at a loss for this...as i JUST started using a cfw psp like a month or slight more ago. so as that implies... yes i'm very new to this scene.
so if ANYONE can help me in any way shape or form i'd be a very happy camper lol
