DIFFERENT PSP ANALOG STICK PROBLEM

Well, my PSP PHAT is running on 5.00 M33-6 and I've had my PSP for about 3 years. All of a sudden, the analog stick doesn't let me go up or left in anygame. I've found out that when I take out the battery and put it back in, the analog stick works fine again! But, sometime later, the analog stick doesn't let me go up or left once again. I don't want to keep taking out the battery and putting it back in every 10 minutes. It's annoying. Can anyone try to figure out the problem?? Thanks.
