Ok guys, i'm on the lookout for an external 1GB HDD & i'm a wee bit stuck.
I've had a look on SCAN as i've used the site a few times & have narrowed it down to 10.
Just wondering what the folks on AD would go for...
Here's the selection:-
Choice 1 - Toshiba 1TB STOR.E USB 2.0 External HDD
Choice 2 - Verbatim 1TB Store 'N' Go USB 2.0 Portable HDD
Choice 3 - Samsung 1TB S2 Portable External HDD
Choice 4 - Seagate 1TB USB 2.0 External HDD
Choice 5 - Samsung 1TB S2 Portable Slim USB 2.0 External HDD
Choice 6 - Seagate 1TB FreeAgent Desk USB 2.0 External HDD
Choice 7 - Seagate 1TB FreeAgent GoFlex Desk USB 2.0 External HDD
Choice 8 - Western Digital Elements USB 2.0 External HDD
Choice 9 - Verbatim 1TB 47512 USB 2.0 Desktop External HDD
Choice 10 - Iomega 1TB 34917 Charcoal Grey Prestige External HDD
There are also 2 cheaper options @ £48 each:-
Cheaper Option 1 - Dane-Elec SO-RD201TUBD, So Ready+ External HDD
Cheaper Option 2 - Buffalo 1TB JustStore Desktop USB 2.0 External HDD
Just found this as well, it's a Samsung 1.5TB HDD for £61:-
Samsung 1.5TB G3 Station USB 2.0 External HDD
I'm leaning towards either Choice 1,Choice 2,Choice 3 or the Samsung 1.5TB...

Given my success with other WD products, I'd say go with the Elements. I have however, so far had no issues with the Seagate expansion 500GB drive I got from Argos in a time of need, but it's quite new, so obviously I can't comment on long-term reliability.
