I currently have the Geforce FX5500 256mb AGP but was wanting to upgrade to the Geforce 6800 GT but it runs GDDR3 so I'm not sure if my Asus K8V-X Mobo will accept it?

Can anyone tell me if my Asus mobo will run it ok and if its actually worthwhile doing this upgrade?

    Thanks

The memory the card uses is unimportant, as it does not affect the system. However, the 6800GT will need to be AGP for it to be compatible. In addition, your PSU needs to be up to the job of powering the card. Many old, cheap units will not be.
