my computer is not booting up past the start up screen where you press a button for setup and what not. But when i press any of the buttons it does nothing its like the computer is froze. Ive read other threads on the internet and they said it could be the ram or the motherboard but all the people hear a beeping noise when there computer first starts up and mine doesnt make any noise. I have an asus p5n-d motherboard and g-skill ram.

Try switching out the RAM as that's easy to test, but it's more likely the motherboard, G-Skill RAM is reliable, P5N-D motherboards are not.

Since I'm not aware how much you're into computers I'd say get into the case and check every cable and every component before trying anything else.

It might be long winded but it has a high success ratio.

If that doesn't work then it might be troublesome.

PS: Have you done a BIOS flash recently?

sorry i havent replied ive been busy, but ive tried everything like the ram, both ram stick, video card, hdd, and sound card. I flashed the bios when i first built the computer about 6 months ago so thats not the cause, so im pretty sure it has to be the motherboard
