Hello. So im building a new computer, so i was wondering, does all these parts work together or do i have to change something? Motherboard = Asus M4A77T, AM3, AMD 770, DDR3, Core Unlocker, ATX 71,00 € Memory = HyperX 2x2GB, DDR3 1600MHz, CL9 63,00 € Cpu = Athlon II X4 640, AM3, 3.0GHz, 2MB, 95W 103,00 € OR Phenom II X4 955BE Rev. C3, AM2+/AM3, 3.2GHz, 8MB, BOX 139,40 € Gpu = Palit GeForce GTX 460, 768MB GDDR5, 192-bit 149,00 € Total Price = 386,00 - 422,40 € And could i make a better Intel based system for the same price.. My budget is max 450 €
Those parts should work together...other than the Asus mainboard that does not work at all. AMD is still a better value at low price points, an intel system at the same price will be slower...but it will have more upgrade potential.
Is fine (except for the Asus board which should really be replaced with a Gigabyte or MSI), but I'd look into the HD6850 instead of the GTX460, it is considerably faster, not much more expensive and actually uses less power. You do realise you've forgotten to buy a case, power supply and any disk drives right? They are all required, and it's not a guarantee you can use your old ones (Hard disks yes, Case and PSU no). If you intend to use old parts, list their specification here so we can guarantee they'll fit together.
Thank for replaing. i desided not to buy a amd based system.. Instead i will buy a Intel based system. I allways used Intel cpu and i decided to continue this routine But the same question comes again. Does these parts work together. And Sammorris. How much better is the HD6850 than the GTX460. Never used a ATI card, so i dont know anything about them I have no idea what brand my case is and i think i have a 550watt PS, dont remember the brand either
The i5 760 is significantly faster than the X4 955, but obviously a little more expensive. The HD6850 is typically around 20% faster than the GTX460 768MB. It also uses only around 130W of power instead of the 150W that the GTX460 uses, which means it will run on a smaller PSU. The brand of the PSU is very important. If you don't know what brand your case is, just submit a picture of it to imageshack and link to it here. I should be able to tell you whether it will fit or not. Lastly, what is the voltage rating on that HyperX memory? It will only work with the i5 if it's 1.65V or 1.5V. Early DDR3 was 1.8V and was for AMDs and older Intel Core 2s only.
The memory Detailed Specifications: Standard 256M X 64 Non-ECC 1600MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (DDR3, 1.65V, CL9, FBGA, Gold) i can take a picture of my case in a little while. And if i remember correctly my psu would be a Antec truepower 2.0 550 watt.. but im not 100 per cent sure about this. And would it be better to just buy 2 gb of ram than 4 gb? im using Windows XP Home edition, and i understood that xp only recognize and uses 3gb? And is there a huge difference between 1333mhz and 1600mhz memory?
XP only recognises 3.25GB but that's a lot better than 2GB, which really isn't enough any more. I'd say get 4GB and plan on upgrading to Windows 7 some time in the future. If the PSU is an Antec TruePower it's fine to use with either graphics card. Memory looks fine (though Kingston isn't my favourite brand, I typically recommend Corsair XMS3)
Would this G.Skill 4GB DDR3-1600, F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ, 9-9-9-24, Dual Kit (2 x 2GB) 89,00 € be a better option than the kingston memory?
