I got a HAF 932 but the 230mm fan isnt moving enough air so Imma get 2 fans to cool Graphics card and part of my RAM. I dont need all 4 slots filled.
Anyways, I want a Blue LED 120MM fan and im stuck between
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...29052&cm_re=AeroCool_.-_-35-129-052-_-Product
    and
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103060
    and
    Enermax Apollish http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120m...wister-Bearing-Glossy-Coating-Thermal-Control
(The coolermaster looks like the best choice but the AeroCool has this cool pulse effect: http://www.overclockershq.com/hardw...and-light-wave-120mm-fan-round-up-review.html and the appolish just looks awsome

So which one is the best choice? does the CM fans performance out weigh the aerocool light.. (Kinda dumb question I kno)
The r4 says 90CFM with 19DBA But that HAS to be impossible.

Let me know if you know some other Unique fans. I want my case to really stand out.. (more than it already does)

You have the same case as me so you may as well do what I'm going to do.
Four of these for the side:
    http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/scythefans/sy-kazejyuni-1900
and one of these for the back:
    http://www.quietpc.com/it-en-eur/products/casefans/kaze-maru-140-1900
(probably imported since they're rare in the UK)

Alternatively, this is a bit cheeky, but since I'm replacing them - I have four near-mint Antec Tricool red LED 120mm fans you can have for very little - they fit the side of a HAF because that's where they are now. You should be aware that no LED fan can match the airflow of a good solid black fan, hence this upgrade, the Antecs are about as powerful as LED fans get, and yet the Scythes are miles more powerful.

I know.. I kept telling myself that. Im just obsessed with a cool looking case.. (I know its crazy) Ill probably go with the scythe. I dont really think changing the top 2 will make any difference so that stays.

I keep agonising over whether that's worth doing as well. Only way to check is to try it I suppose.

Just beware, high volume fans like these are 10x as loud as the fans the HAF comes fitted with.

thats cool, Im only getting the bottom 2 fans because that cools my GPU and part of the RAM. The top 2 slots will just be empty because they arent needed and I can reduce noise that way.
I ran across some twister style fans that have high airflow but very low noise... But are they worth the 20$+ price tag?
I have a HR-03 on my 4870 and Im pretty much trying to keep that cool without much noise.

Actually unless you mounted your motherboard upside down, the bottom 2 side fans only cool the lower graphics card slots and PSU. The top 2 cool the upper graphics card slot, chipset, CPU and RAM and are thus more important.

    Just ran across this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103022
    2 for 10..
I might just get 2 sets of those and get fill all 4 slots.

The bottom 2 slots dont cool the actual 4870 but the giant HR-03 Heatpips and heatsink. And my CPU and RAM are usually cool even at 4GHz with my noctua cooler. Im ordering some ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 also. Thats gonna replace the thermalright junk on my GPU but was wondering if its worth it switching the noctua compound on my CPU?

Im getting the Arctic Silver ACN-60ML Thermal remover as well
(Or does alcohol do the same job?)
    Thanks

You do realise those fans push less air than the 230mm you're replacing right?

How the hell do you find these things lol... that has a great airflow/noise ratio. The CM C4 says 19DBA/90CFM but that has to be immpossible.

    It is, it's roughly 60-65CFM at 36-37dB.
The Antec is roughly 65-70CFM at 35dB.
The Scythes are roughly 90CFM at 38-39dB.

Also be aware that LED fans suffer frame resonation, black fans don't.

I never had much luck with RAMsinks on my card, but then when they fell off I discovered they weren't necessary for that card anyway. The same may not be true of current gen cards. Just be advised once you apply thermal adhesive, it's on there for good.

I need the RAMsinks because I tried to boot without them and it just kept restarting. The sinks are on good I just hear that stuff keeps them cooler but for 12$ I dont think a few degress on the GPU's RAM really matter..
And im hearing alcohol cleans almost as good as the Thermal remover

Just realized I gotta get this
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16899261003
to take off the 230MM fans... Price is a big factor now..lol

A card should never reboot without the RAMsinks for at least 20-30 minutes of heavy use, RAM simply doesn't get that hot.

I considered one of those toolkits for myself, but they're not that great - the screwdriver is a multi-purpose single driver with multiple bits. The driver itself however is too big to fit in most PC environments, so useless for a lot of tasks. The best screwdrivers for PCs are these (not necessarily this exact brand):

They're not allan sockets, they're stardriver (torx) screws.

As for the alcohol, perhaps not, but I couldn't really tell the difference. I just do it properly for the sake of doing it properly.

It's essentially down to you, if you want blue LEDs buy the Antecs, if you want absolute airflow get the scythes. Just beware they're both really loud fans, the Scythes even more so - I think this will probably take you by surprise.
