    Hey Guys

I'm trying to reinstall XP on my computer as it got a whack load of viruses out of nowhere. I entered the BIOS and set the boot sequence to CD-ROM first, and popped in the CD.

The initial blue screen shows up when the CD inspects the computer, and then I get this message:

File acpi.sys caused an unexpected error (32768) at line 5964 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\setup.c.

    Any help would be appreciated!

in the bios, goto to power management & disable the acpi. the problem is that that portion of the bios is not xp compatible & so you get that error. check motherboard/computer manufacturer for possible bios upgrade. a possible problem you might have after xp is loaded is that windows will not totally shut down but will post on screen that windows is ready to be turned off so press power button for 8-10 seconds.
