Motherboard for AMD Phenom II X4 945?

Hello! I'm trying to build my first PC and after looking through all the different types of CPU's, I decided to go with the AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz

I'm not exactly sure what motherboard to look for? Some motherboards say AM2+/AM3. So do these AM2+ motherboards work with this CPU too or should I just be looking at AM3 motherboards? Is this all there is to check if the CPU is compatible with the motherboard?

you want am3 board. check board specs or manufacturer to see what cpu will work with that board & what bios version needed to run that cpu on that board.
